Tourism Contribution to Cyprus Economy Expected at 14% in 2025

The Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis, announced that the contribution of tourism to the Cypriot economy is expected to reach 14% in 2025, up from 13.1% the previous year. This confirms tourism as a strategic pillar of development and resilience for Cyprus. Tourism revenue for the three-year period 2023-2025 amounted to a record €9.9 billion. 2025 also saw record numbers of tourists, exceeding 4.5 million, an increase of 12.2% compared to 2023 and 41.6% compared to 2022. The average per capita expenditure also increased by 2.9%, reaching €822. This increase is due to the continuous effort to upgrade tourism services. The Deputy Minister of Tourism emphasized the importance of maintaining these performances and continuously improving the tourist experience through green and digital transition. The Deputy Ministry is investing in plans that promote these transitions, aiming to strengthen the competitiveness and resilience of the tourism sector. The Government and the Deputy Ministry of Tourism express their satisfaction with the historic records of 2025 and are committed to continuing efforts for the further development of tourism in Cyprus.
