Strong Earthquake Shakes Crete

A strong earthquake struck off the coast of Crete, causing concern among local authorities and residents. According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, the quake measured 4.8 on the Richter scale. The epicenter of the earthquake was located 136 kilometers south of Ierapetra. So far, there have been no reports of injuries or damage, however, authorities are closely monitoring the situation and have implemented safety protocols. Seismic activity in the area is frequent due to its geological location.
