Spain: Three Missing After Torrential Rains and Floods

Three people are missing in Spain following torrential rains that hit the Malaga area over the weekend, causing widespread flooding. Authorities have launched searches to locate the missing individuals, two near Malaga and one near Granada. Videos circulating on social media show flooded streets in several villages. The Civil Protection agency reports that 339 incidents have been recorded in Andalusia, mainly in the province of Malaga, with no reports of serious injuries. However, authorities are urging the public to take strict precautions. The Murcia region has been placed on red alert, while the neighboring Valencia region is on orange alert due to the risk of severe damage. The Spanish national meteorological agency (Aemet) has lowered the alert level in the Malaga area. Spain continues to grapple with the aftermath of the devastating floods of October 2024, which caused more than 230 deaths, mainly in the Valencia region. Authorities remain on alert and continue to monitor the situation.
