Balanced University of Cyprus Budget with Additional €3 Million State Funding

The University of Cyprus's budget for 2026 is balanced, totaling €226 million, following the approval of an additional €3 million in state funding, compared to the €7 million requested. The budget is €420,000 larger than last year's, with 66% (€150 million) coming from state resources and 34% (€76 million) from other sources. Expenses are allocated as follows: 43% to benefits (salaries, pensions), 6.7% to operating expenses, 10% to administrative expenses, and 20% less to capital expenditures compared to the previous budget. In addition, infrastructure projects are progressing, such as the completion of the medical school (inauguration on March 24th) and the installation of photovoltaic systems.
