Iran: US and Israel Strike Gas Facility

Iranian gas facilities in the Gulf region were struck by Israel and the US, causing a fire, according to Iranian state television. The attack on the South Pars field, a significant gas site, took place as the war between Iran and its allies is in its third week. Israel confirmed the attack, stating it was carried out in coordination with the US. South Pars/North Dome is the world's largest gas field and provides 70% of the natural gas consumed in Iran. This is not the first time Israel has targeted these facilities, having carried out a similar attack in June 2025. The escalation of the conflict began after the assassination of Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, by the US and Israel on February 28th.
