Iran Blames Europe for Escalation, Denies Attacks on Neighbors

Iran has accused European countries of contributing to the escalation of the conflict with Israel and the United States, claiming they created the conditions for recent attacks. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ismail Baghai vehemently denied any Iranian involvement in attacks against Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Cyprus, labeling them as "provocations." He further accused European nations of supporting the US and Israel at the UN Security Council, thereby encouraging the escalation of violence. Baghai stated there was no reason for negotiations while attacks continue, emphasizing that Iran will continue to defend itself. He reiterated that Iran's target is not to wage war with its Muslim neighbors, but to target infrastructure used by the aggressors for its self-defense. The statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region following the exchange of missile strikes between Iran and Israel. Iran has justified its attacks as retaliation for the Israeli strike on its embassy in Damascus. Tehran insists its actions are defensive and aimed at preventing further attacks. Simultaneously, it accuses the United States and Israel of destabilizing the region and violating international law.
