Iran: Gaza on a Global Scale?

The situation in the Middle East is rapidly escalating, with the risk of developing into a wider regional conflict. The extension of the ultimatum to Iran does not signal de-escalation, but a dangerous transition to a state of controlled instability. Iran's threats to mine the Persian Gulf and attack American bases indicate that the conflict has gone beyond regional boundaries. Attacks on countries such as Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as attacks on military installations, confirm the escalation of the conflict. The situation in Israel follows the same logic, with continuous interceptions of missiles and rhetoric about “total destruction.” In Lebanon, the destruction of critical infrastructure and fears of a ground invasion intensify the feeling that the front is widening. The conflict has turned into a multidimensional phenomenon, with military, political, social, and economic consequences. The conflict has caused an economic and energy shock, with oil prices rising significantly due to uncertainty about the operation of the Strait of Hormuz. History shows that military power does not guarantee a political outcome, and the current situation requires careful diplomacy and avoidance of further escalation.
