Mourning for Özdil Nami – Father Passes Away

Erdil Nami, a businessman and father of Özdil Nami, a well-known negotiator from the Turkish Cypriot side, passed away on Tuesday. The deceased was a graduate of the English School and participated in the intercommunal conflicts of 1964. After completing his studies, he devoted himself to the private sector in the occupied territories, active in the field of industry, trade and investment, through his company “Erdil ve Oğulları Ltd.”. He specialized in the trade of building materials and providing consulting for foreign investments. Erdil Nami was also a founding member of the Turkish Cypriot “business association” and president of the Turkish Cypriot chamber of commerce, and was active in civil society organizations, serving as chairman of SOS Kinderdorf in the occupied territories, promoting dialogue and cooperation between communities. His death caused mourning in the Turkish Cypriot community, as Erdil Nami had significant involvement in the economic and social life in the occupied territories.
