The Paphos District Court today sentenced a 41-year-old to two years in prison after finding him guilty of causing death due to reckless, imprudent or dangerous behavior. The 41-year-old was involved in a fatal road collision in Paphos in December 2025, resulting in the death of a 23-year-old. Petko Svetlozar, a Bulgarian national, lost his life when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a car driven by the 41-year-old. The 41-year-old tested negative for alcohol, but tested positive for drugs. The conviction highlights the seriousness of road safety and the consequences of driving under the influence of drugs. The court took into account the reckless behavior of the 41-year-old that led to the fatal injury of the young man.
