Increased Driving Ban for Causing Death by Negligence

The Parliament unanimously passed a bill increasing the penalty of driving license suspension for causing death by non-culpable negligence. Specifically, the maximum period of driving license suspension is increased from three months to two years. This amendment was deemed necessary due to the inadequate punishment previously provided for such offenses, as well as the inconsistency with penalties for other offenses. The MP who proposed the bill emphasized that the increase in the penalty will contribute to the rationalization of the legal framework and make the system fairer.
