US-Iran: Significant Step in Talks - Agreement to Exchange Drafts

A significant step in the process of indirect negotiations was announced by the Iranian Foreign Minister, revealing that the two sides have agreed to begin working on possible draft agreements and exchange them. The agreement is based on principles that have already been accepted by both sides. The Iranian Foreign Minister stressed that compared to the previous round of negotiations, developments are positive, however, issues remain open that require further negotiation. The transition to this phase marks a significant development, but does not guarantee an immediate agreement. The negotiations are being conducted through intermediaries, as direct talks between the US and Iran are limited. The goal is to restore the 2015 nuclear agreement, which was withdrawn from by the US under the Trump administration. Reactivating the agreement could lead to the lifting of economic sanctions against Iran.
