Russia's Far East Buried in Snow - Disruptions in China and Japan

Russia's Far East is buried under meters of snow due to the heaviest snowfall in 60 years, while other parts of Asia, including China and Japan, are facing problems due to the cold. In the Kamchatka Peninsula, snowfall has reached heights of over 2 meters, causing transportation and daily life disruptions for residents. Highways have been closed in China, and aircraft have been grounded in Japan. Rare snowfall occurred in Shanghai. Scientists attribute the extreme weather events to the descent of cold air masses from the Arctic, due to jet stream undulation and the weakening of the Arctic polar vortex. The situation is expected to continue for the next few days.
