Paralympic Committee Calls on MP to Remove Logo from Video

The Cyprus Paralympic Committee has issued a statement regarding the use of its logo in a video circulating on social media by MEP Pheidi Panayiotou, concerning Paralympic athletes. The Committee states that it has not given any permission or consent for the use of its logo in the video, characterizing the action as arbitrary and unacceptable as it creates false impressions of cooperation. The Committee emphasizes that its operation is based on transparency, institutional seriousness, and respect for athletes, sponsors, and society. It points out that any public reference or use of its logo requires an official approval process. Failure to comply with this process undermines the credibility of the Paralympic Movement in Cyprus. Therefore, the Paralympic Committee calls on Pheidi Panayiotou to immediately remove the Committee's logo from the video and make a public clarification that there is no cooperation or approval from the Committee. Failure to comply with this request will result in legal action by the Committee. The Committee states that the protection of its institutional position and the credibility of the Paralympic Movement is of utmost importance and is non-negotiable. It also announces that it will soon announce its next moves to safeguard its interests and the Paralympic Movement in Cyprus.
