Hungary to Gradually Halt Gas Deliveries to Ukraine

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced that Hungary will gradually stop delivering natural gas to Ukraine until the flow of Russian oil is restored through the Druzhba pipeline. This decision escalates tensions between Hungary and Ukraine, as Hungary and Slovakia accuse Kyiv of disrupting the pipeline's operation, which is vital for supplying their refineries with Russian oil. Ukraine responds that the pipeline was damaged by a Russian drone attack and is working to repair it, with the EU offering technical and financial assistance. However, Ukraine estimates that it will take several weeks to resume oil flows, leading to Hungary's decision to halt gas deliveries.
