Cyprus is a Safe Tourist Destination, Says President Christodoulides

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, stated in an interview with money-tourism.gr that Cyprus is a safe tourist destination and a stable environment for investment and business activity. He emphasized that Cyprus operates under conditions of full institutional and economic stability and remains an important European pillar in a geopolitically significant region. President Christodoulides referred to the impressive increase in tourism in the last three years, with a 40% increase in arrivals and a 50% increase in revenue, attributing this success to the cooperation between the state and the private sector. He expressed optimism for this year's tourist season, emphasizing Cyprus's ability to adapt to difficult conditions. He mentioned the case of Ukraine, where the loss of Russian tourists was offset by an increase from other countries, such as Poland and Israel. According to the President, Cyprus is not part of the region's problems but operates as a pillar of stability and cooperation. The geographical location of Cyprus and its membership in the European Union make it an important link between Europe and the Middle East. President Christodoulides is in constant communication with European officials to ensure the promotion of Cyprus as a safe destination. Finally, he referred to the recent revision of the tourism strategy until 2035, taking into account developments in the Middle East. The government is committed to continuous efforts to promote and support the tourism sector, in cooperation with the private sector, to maintain the competitiveness and sustainability of Cypriot tourism.
