Greek Tanker Hit in Black Sea: Crew Safe

A Greek tanker was hit by an aerial attack in the Black Sea, 14 nautical miles from Novorossiysk. According to the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy, the attack came from a missile or drone. There were 24 crew members on board, including 10 Greeks, 13 Filipinos, and one Romanian. All are in good health and no injuries were reported. The attack caused material damage to the right side of the ship, however, the ship is self-propelled and no pollution occurred. The Minister of Shipping, Vassilis Kikilias, informed the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the incident. The incident comes at a time of increased tension in the region, due to the war in Ukraine and its consequences.
