Cyprus Prioritizes European Shipping Competitiveness

The Deputy Minister of Shipping, Marina Hadjimanoli, and the President of the Transport Committee of the European Parliament, Elisabeth Vossenberk Vryonidi, emphasized the importance of promoting the competitiveness of European shipping during the 9th Capital Link Shipping Forum in Limassol. The Cypriot Presidency is committed to working towards achieving tangible results in this area. Despite geopolitical tensions, market instability, and the need for green and digital transition, shipping has proven its ability to adapt and lead. Cypriot shipping, in particular, has made significant progress, with a 23% increase in the capacity of its registry in the last 2.5 years and a 17% increase in the contribution of the ship management sector to GDP. The Deputy Ministry of Shipping focuses on maintaining the quality, resilience and long-term sustainability of Cypriot shipping, through regulatory predictability, high safety standards and support for green and digital transition. Cyprus has established itself as a comprehensive international maritime center, offering a reliable registry and a dynamic ecosystem of maritime services.
