Agia Triada Beach Becomes Cyprus' First Plastic-Free Beach

Agia Triada beach in Paralimni has been recognized as the first plastic-free beach in Cyprus, as part of the 'Keep Our Sand and Sea Plastic Free' program. This initiative is part of the strategy of the Municipality of Paralimni – Deryneia to reduce single-use plastics and promote sustainable tourism. The beach is also distinguished by its accessibility to people with disabilities. Representatives of the Cyprus Sustainable Tourism Association, the Travel Foundation, the TUI Care Foundation and the IUCN visited the beach to confirm the success of the initiative and discuss further actions to protect the environment.
