Lactalis Recalls Infant Formula in 18 Countries – Statement from the Giant

Dairy giant Lactalis announced today that it is recalling six batches of 'Picot' brand infant formula in France due to the 'possible presence' of cereulide toxin, which can cause diarrhea and vomiting. The recall affects 18 countries, mainly in Latin America and Spain. Lactalis has carried out similar recalls in the past, such as in 2017 due to salmonella contamination. The company emphasizes that initial analyses were within specifications, but repeat tests showed the presence of the toxin and is proceeding with the recall as a precautionary measure. No cases related to the consumption of these products have been reported so far.
