Zelensky: Donbas to be Central Topic in Trilateral Meeting in Abu Dhabi

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the issue of Donbas will be central to the trilateral meeting to be held today in Abu Dhabi, with the participation of delegations from Ukraine, Russia and the United States. Zelensky stressed that the discussion will focus on the situation in the occupied regions of eastern Ukraine and that Ukraine's European partners will be informed of the outcome of the negotiations. The Ukrainian president rejected Moscow's proposal to use frozen Russian assets to rebuild Russian regions, calling it “absurd”. He reiterated Kyiv's position that all frozen Russian funds should be used to rebuild Ukraine, which has suffered massive damage from the war. The trilateral meeting in Abu Dhabi is considered an important opportunity to discuss prospects for resolving the crisis in Ukraine and to find ways to restore peace in the region. The participation of the United States underscores the importance Washington attaches to finding a diplomatic solution to the conflict.
