Zelensky: Putin Has Not Achieved His Goals

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian President Vladimir Putin has not achieved his goals in the war against Ukraine and has failed to break the morale of Ukrainians. This statement was made on the fourth anniversary of the start of the Russian invasion. Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is still standing and will fight for peace and justice. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa were in Kyiv to express the EU’s support for Ukraine. They participated in a trilateral meeting with Zelensky and an online session of the Alliance of the Willing, a group of Kyiv's allies. The Russian invasion, the bloodiest conflict in Europe since World War II, has caused hundreds of thousands of deaths and injuries, as well as geopolitical upheaval. Diplomatic efforts to end the war have so far been unsuccessful. According to a report published yesterday, the reconstruction of Ukraine is estimated to cost about $588 billion over the next decade. Putin, in a speech, assured that Russian troops are protecting Russia's borders in Ukraine.
