Zelensky: Russia Considering Infrastructure for Drone Control Belarus-Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accuses Russia of planning to install four ground control stations for long-range unmanned aerial vehicles in Belarus and an unknown number of bases in occupied Ukrainian territories. According to Kyiv, these facilities will enhance Russia's capabilities for long-range attacks, reaching much of Europe, including the eastern half of France. The range of Shahed drones, manufactured in Russia, is estimated between 1,800 and 2,600 kilometers, allowing Moscow to reach parts of eastern France from Belarus. Zelensky has warned for months about Minsk's increased involvement in the Ukrainian war. The Ukrainian president has ordered the head of military intelligence to share this information with Ukraine's allies. He also states that Belarus's support for Russia temporarily strengthened Russian attacks, prompting Kyiv to take countermeasures. Ukraine has already adopted sanctions against Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and is working on a “legal framework” to expand these sanctions. This situation highlights the escalating tensions in the region and concerns about further destabilization.
