Raids on Barbershops and Mini Markets Run by Foreign Nationals in Limassol, Arrests and €4,000 Fine

The Limassol Police Department has intensified checks on barbershops and other businesses run by foreign nationals as part of a targeted campaign. During the inspections of 20 establishments, irregularities were found in eight of them, resulting in complaints. Specifically, two barbershops were operating without a license and three mini markets without a license to operate and sell tobacco products. Two people were arrested for illegal employment and one employer was reported. In addition, an out-of-court settlement of €4,000 was issued for undeclared and illegal work. The checks will continue and be intensified in the coming period.
