Do Numbers Prosper Alone? The President Answers the Big Question

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, responded to criticism that economic prosperity does not translate into an improvement in the lives of citizens during his speech at the pan-Cypriot conference of SEK. The President cited his government's achievements, such as the reduction in unemployment, the increase in the minimum wage, low inflation, and the fiscal surplus, arguing that these figures lead to cheaper borrowing, attracting investment, and creating better-paying jobs. He also highlighted the 27 upgrades of Cyprus by rating agencies, returning it to category A for the first time since 2011, and emphasized that these upgrades have a direct positive impact on the daily lives of citizens and enable targeted social interventions. President Christodoulides stressed Cyprus's ability to absorb external shocks and remain economically strong.
