ETEK to Collaborate with Municipalities and Provincial Organizations to Improve Quality of Life

The Scientific and Technical Chamber of Cyprus (ETEK) has launched a series of meetings with Municipalities and Provincial Self-Government Organizations (PSGOs) across Cyprus, aiming to strengthen cooperation and improve citizen services. The first extended meeting took place in Larnaca, with representatives from local authorities and ETEK in attendance. This initiative is part of a broader effort to foster dialogue and collaboration, recognizing the significant role of Local Government in development planning and sustainable development. The goal is to deepen cooperation, exchange views, and identify the problems faced by Municipalities. During the meeting, the President of ETEK presented the progress of the PSGOs in their first twenty months of operation, mentioning expectations and the current situation. He emphasized the need for a targeted effort to fully utilize the potential of Local Government reform. Particular emphasis was placed on the digitization of services and the exploitation of synergies created by the co-location of technical activities. ETEK committed to supporting Local Government, providing higher quality services at the lowest possible cost. Participants discussed the problems and challenges faced by Municipalities and the Larnaca PSGO, as well as issues related to the development and daily life of the city.
