In Estonia, a supermarket has become known for a unique reason: it is built around an impressive glacial rock approximately 10,000 years old. The boulder, with a circumference of 22 meters and a height of about 6 meters, was discovered during excavations for the construction of the shopping center in 2014. Initially, there was an intention to blast it, however the local community reacted and it was determined that the rock was a glacial boulder that met the conditions for protection. Glacial boulders are rocks transported by glaciers, providing valuable information about the geological history of the area. Estonia hosts thousands of similar boulders, but this one is special due to its central location in the Viimsi Shopping Center. The presence of the rock has become an integral part of the daily life of the local residents and is an interesting destination for visitors.
