Erhurman: Failure to Resolve Crossing Points Hinders Cyprus Solution

Published February 14, 2026, 12:21

Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman expressed his disappointment over the lack of progress in opening new crossing points and improving existing ones between the two communities in Cyprus. He argued that the inability to resolve such a simple issue indicates an inability to resolve the Cyprus problem. Erhurman referred to the problems at the crossings, particularly at Agios Dometios, and reiterated proposals for Mia Milia, Louroujina, and Pyroi. He emphasized that facilitating the daily lives of citizens and contact between the two communities is a priority, even if it means economic losses for the occupied territories. He called on all parties to take responsibility for advancing the resolution process.
