Erdoğan: 'We Are Concerned' About Attacks on Iran - Calls for Ceasefire

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan expressed his deep concern about the attacks by the US and Israel on Iran, warning of the risk of a widespread conflagration in the region. He appealed for an immediate ceasefire. Erdoğan stressed that Ankara is following the developments with sadness and worry after the strikes, characterizing the start of the attacks as a result of Netanyahu's instigation. He emphasized Turkey's efforts to resolve differences through dialogue. Condemning both the attacks by the US and Israel and the Iranian counterattacks against Gulf countries, Erdoğan warned of the prevalence of a 'ring of fire' in the region, unless common sense and prudence prevail. The Turkish president called for urgent mobilization, especially from the Islamic world, to prevent further bloodshed and called for the immediate start of diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire and return to negotiations.
