Worker Struck by Lightning at Construction Site in Chania

A worker in Chania was struck by lightning while inside his vehicle at a construction site in the Paleochora area. The 40-year-old press operator was initially taken to the Kantanos Health Center and then, by ambulance from the Kolymbari EKAB, to the Chania Hospital, where he is hospitalized in good condition. The incident occurred on Friday afternoon during bad weather. Authorities had issued warnings about potential risks from lightning. The worker was lucky, as the damage to his health was limited despite the strong electric discharge. The immediate transfer to the hospital and appropriate medical care contributed to the rapid stabilization of his condition. The competent services are investigating the circumstances of the accident in order to determine any omissions in safety measures.
