Seven Arrests Made During Police Operations in Cyprus

The Cyprus Police conducted targeted preventative operations throughout the night, with an increased presence in urban areas, aiming to prevent criminal activities and protect citizens. During the operations, a total of seven individuals were arrested for various offenses, including drug possession, driving under the influence of alcohol, traffic violations, illegal stay, and common assault. Over 346 vehicles and 80 individuals were checked, and 26 premises were inspected. Traffic checks resulted in 124 reports for traffic violations and 7 reports for driving under the influence. Additionally, three vehicles were impounded as part of the investigation of traffic offenses. These operations are part of a broader, ongoing, and enhanced preventative plan by the Police, with increased police presence, targeted checks, and immediate operational action in all provinces. The goal is to further prevent crime and enhance the sense of security among citizens. The Police continue to implement similar operations on a regular basis, adapting their tactics according to current needs and criminal trends.
