Life-Saving Operation in Paphos: Premature Baby Rescued at Home

A critical and successful rescue operation was completed in Paphos, where a woman in the 27th week of pregnancy went into premature labor at her home. Ambulance crews from the OKYpY Ambulance Service arrived immediately at the scene and managed to treat two "critical patients" simultaneously: the mother and the premature newborn. The operation was particularly challenging due to the remote location and the need to provide immediate medical care to two people at the same time. Head of the Service, Riana Konstantinou, stressed the crucial role of training, composure, and adherence to protocols in the successful outcome of the rescue. Ms. Konstantinou noted that the recovery of a newborn outside a hospital setting is one of the biggest challenges for healthcare professionals, expressing her pride in the crews that responded to the difficult conditions. The successful rescue highlights the importance of adequate training and preparation of ambulance crews, as well as the effectiveness of the OKYpY Ambulance Service in providing immediate medical care in critical situations.
