Refugee Committee: Foreclosures Stopped - Open Front on Self-Housing

The Parliamentary Committee on Refugees announced that foreclosures in refugee settlements have stopped following the Committee's advice, however the issue of self-housing remains open. According to data, there are 14 cases in refugee settlements and 320 in KEDIPES that are in the portfolios of credit acquisition companies. Over 500 applications for the rent-for-installment scheme have been approved and another 1000 are under consideration. The Committee calls on borrowers who are facing problems with their loans and have received a letter to contact the credit acquisition companies and state that their residence is in a refugee self-housing settlement. Committee members emphasize the importance of protecting refugees and call for an immediate review of the foreclosure framework.
