Imposters Posing as EAC Employees Scam Citizens in Limassol

Imposters in Limassol are posing as EAC (Electricity Authority of Cyprus) employees and scamming citizens by extracting money under the pretext of restoring electricity. The perpetrators lower the safety switch of the electrical panel, creating the impression of a power outage, and then demand money for the "repair". The Police have received complaints and are urging the public to be particularly careful and report any suspicious incidents. Citizens are advised to contact the nearest Police Station, the Limassol TAE (25805057) or the Citizen Communication Line (1460). The Police are investigating to locate and arrest the perpetrators, warning citizens not to comply with individuals who cannot prove their identity as EAC employees.
