Data Protection Authority Orders Temporary Shutdown of Fidias Panagiotou's Agora Platform

The Data Protection Authority has requested the temporary suspension of the operation of the 'Agora' platform of MEP Fidias Panagiotou, in order to assess its compliance with the European and national data protection framework. According to Commissioner Maria Christofidou, the Authority sent an official letter to Mr. Panagiotou's legal representatives, demanding a temporary suspension until the completion of the Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA). Compliance with the legal framework for data protection is considered an obligation, not an option. The Authority expects written confirmation of the shutdown and will take the necessary action within its remit. The assessment will ensure that the platform operates in accordance with regulations and protects users' personal data.
