Shooting Incident in Larnaca: Businessmen Back in Court – Case Adjourned to June 17th

Two businessmen, aged 47 and 43, appeared in court today in Larnaca as part of investigations into the incidents that occurred near the city's Police Headquarters on January 17th. The case was adjourned to June 17th as the defense attorneys requested witness material. The charges against the two men relate to interference in a judicial process and conspiracy to commit a crime, which they deny. Additionally, the 47-year-old is accused of illegal possession of property, as €103,915 and 42 checks worth €560,000 were found in his office, suspected to be proceeds of theft. The court had previously ordered their release on bail of €80,000 each, surrender of their travel documents, and a requirement to report to a police station twice a week, while they are prohibited from leaving the country. According to the prosecution, the two businessmen attempted to persuade the complainant in the case to change his testimony in meetings held after the incidents. The complainant is the owner of a car rental company that was attacked by a group of people demanding money for "protection". The case is ongoing and is expected to continue on June 17th, with the submission of the requested witness material being crucial to its development.
