AKEL Holds Meetings with Stakeholders and Groups in Paphos

A delegation from AKEL Paphos, led by Provincial Secretary Andreas Fakontis and including the party's candidates Mariella Theofanous, Nikos Savvidis, Giorgos Skourou and Valentinos Fakontis, held a series of meetings with institutional bodies and civil society representatives in Paphos. The meetings took place with the Bar Association, officials from the Department of Road Transport and representatives of the educational community. During the meeting with the Bar Association, delays in justice and the decline in lawsuits were highlighted, threatening the sustainability of the legal profession. With the Department of Road Transport, the lack of personnel and efforts to address delays in driving licenses were discussed. In meetings with the educational community, issues of infrastructure, social inclusion and drugs in schools were discussed. AKEL emphasized the need to modernize the state and strengthen institutions for the effective service of citizens and access to justice. It also highlighted the need for adequate staffing of public services and the promotion of new school infrastructure. AKEL pledged to continue highlighting the problems faced by citizens and to pressure the state to resolve them. The series of meetings is part of the party's continuous contact with society and institutions.
