Education Committee Grants 15 Days for Consultations on Fixed-Term Employees in Support Programs

The Parliamentary Committee on Education has granted a 15-day period for consultation regarding the regulation of employment for fixed-term employees in the support programs of the Ministry of Education, such as Private Education Centers (KIE) and evening schools. This decision follows reactions from OELMEK and OLTEK, who protested the lack of consultation. Simultaneously, the Committee discussed the issue of curators within the Ministry of Education, where an unequal distribution of employees between the Ministry and School Boards was identified, a problem requiring immediate resolution. Furthermore, a study was decided to be conducted to assess the actual staffing needs of school units with curators, estimated to cost 50,000 euros and to be completed by the end of June. The study will examine the needs of curators in both Secondary and Primary Education. The DISY party proposed the continuation of consultation with all stakeholders, while reminding that its government had abolished the policy of service procurement and paved the way for offering contracts to these employees. In summary, the Education Committee aims to regulate the employment of fixed-term employees in the Ministry of Education's support programs, resolve the issues concerning curators, and ensure the proper staffing of school units, taking into account the needs and reactions of the involved parties.
