ETYK Authorized to Take Strike Measures at the Housing Finance Organization

Employees of the Housing Finance Organization (HFO) have authorized ETYK to proceed with strike measures if deemed necessary, due to serious outstanding issues within the organization that have been pending for years. The decision was made at a Pan-Cypriot General Assembly of ETYK members at the HFO. The reported issues include the indifference of the Ministry of Finance towards supporting the organization, the delay in renewing the Collective Agreement since 2017, the deadlock in promotions to the position of Senior Clerk, the understaffing of the organization, and the unilateral abolition of the position of Senior Officer. ETYK emphasizes concern for the future of the organization and stresses the need for immediate solutions and substantial support from the Ministry of Finance. The alignment of employees with the leadership of ETYK was complete. A meeting with the organization’s management has already been scheduled for next week, while the message to the Ministry of Finance is clear: the problems must be addressed immediately to ensure the future of the organization and the dignified treatment of its staff.
