Cyprus Anti-Corruption Authority Investigates Controversial Video

The Cyprus Anti-Corruption Authority is commencing a detailed examination of the video that circulated last week, raising concerns about potential irregularities within the government. Transparency Commissioner Charis Poyiatzis stated that the Authority is proceeding cautiously but not passively, and will collaborate with the Legal Service, which is already investigating the matter. The Authority will assess whether the video's editing affects its content, also seeking assistance from the Police. Mr. Poyiatzis mentioned that if aspects not investigated by the Legal Service arise, the Authority may conduct a supplementary investigation. Additionally, the First Lady's departure to protect the organization and the political storm surrounding the video, with serious suspicions of involved interests, were reported.
