Cyprus and UAE Discuss Regional Developments and Bilateral Ties

Cypriot Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos met with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs, in Dubai to discuss regional developments and bilateral cooperation. The meeting focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Cyprus and the UAE in various sectors, including economy, trade, and investment. Special reference was made to the impact of recent Iranian attacks on the UAE and other countries in the region, with Sheikh Abdullah expressing his appreciation for Cyprus' solidarity. Both sides emphasized the importance of diplomacy and dialogue for de-escalation and achieving stability. Minister Kombos stressed Cyprus' unwavering solidarity with the UAE and its partners in the Gulf, while Sheikh Abdullah reiterated his country's full solidarity with Cyprus. Cooperation between the UAE and the European Union was also discussed, given Cyprus' EU Presidency. The meeting highlights the importance of close cooperation between Cyprus and the UAE in a period of increased instability in the region, as well as their joint commitment to promoting peace and security.
