Body Found in the Bosphorus - Investigation into Possible Link with Missing Russian Swimmer

A body was discovered in the Bosphorus in Istanbul, and Turkish authorities are investigating whether it belongs to Russian swimmer Nikolai Svetchnikov, who has been missing since August 24th after participating in the 37th Intercontinental Swimming Race of the Bosphorus. The body was found between Galatasaray and Bebek and recovered by the Coast Guard. Initial reports suggest the body's features resemble those of the missing athlete and was wearing swimming trunks. The family has been informed, and a DNA sample is expected to be taken for definitive identification. Investigations are ongoing to fully determine the identity of the body.
