Objections to Translations and Allegations of 'Political Prosecution' in Cypriot Property Case

The trial of the 49-year-old German real estate agent, accused of usurping Greek Cypriot properties in the occupied territories, continued with objections from the defense regarding the validity of the translations of the evidence. The defense lawyer questioned the reliability of the translations, arguing that automatic translation tools were used, which produce unstable results, and accused the police officer witness of "falsifying evidence" and "selective investigation". Furthermore, the defense raised allegations of "political prosecution", claiming that the investigation was biased and aimed at involving the accused in a political issue. The court approved a recess for the review of digital material due to lack of internet access in prison. The defense is expected to request an adjournment of the trial for at least three months, while the accused remains in custody.
