Inaugural Lecture by Professor Katerina Mavrou at the European University of Cyprus

The European University of Cyprus is hosting the Inaugural Lecture by Professor Katerina Mavrou, titled: “Excluding Exclusion: Technology, Accessibility, and Us.” The lecture will take place on February 25, 2026 (Wednesday, 6:00 PM) in Room 102 of the University and will examine the relationship between technology and accessibility, emphasizing attitudes and collective responsibility. Professor Mavrou is a Professor of Inclusive Education and Assistive Technology at the European University of Cyprus and Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Unit for Assistive Technology, Disability, and Inclusive Education of the SoScieAtH Centre of Excellence. The lecture, open to the public, is a significant moment in her academic career and will present her scientific, educational, and social work. Professor Mavrou has extensive experience in education and disability policy, and her research focuses on assistive technology, accessibility, and digital inclusion. Her lecture will highlight the issue of collective responsibility towards exclusion, drawing on research in assistive technology and inclusive education.
