Historic Collaboration: University of Frederick and University of Manchester to Establish Medical School in Limassol

The University of Frederick has announced a historic collaboration with the University of Manchester to establish the first Medical School in Limassol, expected to commence operations in 2028. The new school will be based on the Manchester curriculum, incorporating clinical experience, research-based teaching, and patient-centered learning. The President of the University of Frederick Council, Natassa Freiderikou, hailed the collaboration as a milestone for the development of medical education in Cyprus, emphasizing academic excellence, social responsibility, and innovation as core values. This agreement marks a significant investment in healthcare and education in Cyprus, offering students access to a world-class medical program. The MBChB program will follow the structure, learning outcomes, and educational philosophy of Manchester, ensuring high academic standards. Professor Allan Pacey, Deputy Dean and Deputy Vice-President of the Faculty of Biology, Medicine and Health at the University of Manchester, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the shared values and long-term vision for strengthening medical education and healthcare in the region. The establishment of the Medical School is expected to contribute to meeting Cyprus's needs for medical personnel and promoting medical research, while also enhancing the international reputation of the University of Frederick as a center of excellence in education and research.
