Greece: Fifth Worker Found Dead After Factory Fire in Trikala

A tragedy unfolded at the "Violanta" factory in Trikala, Greece, with the discovery of a fifth deceased worker, completing the grim toll from the fire and subsequent explosion. Investigations are now focused on the cause of the tragedy, with reports suggesting a possible gas leak in the factory's ovens. At the time of the incident, the factory was operational with a 24-hour shift and 13 people were in the affected wing. The deceased women were between 42 and 65 years old, while several workers were taken to the hospital as a precaution, without being in danger. Psychologists have been dispatched to the scene and the hospital to provide support to the victims' families. The Trikala Labor Center reports that an inspection of the factory was carried out in the summer for safety issues, with some observations that are expected to clarify the causes of the accident.
