Greece: Owner of 'Violanta' factory and two other executives arrested

Following the fatal explosion at the 'Violanta' factory in Trikala, which claimed the lives of five workers, the owner of the company and two other executives were arrested by the fire department's investigative team. The charges they face include manslaughter, explosion, arson by negligence, and bodily harm. Simultaneously, the General Secretariat for Industry issued a statement clarifying that the licensing and control of the factory were the responsibility of the Thessaly Region and specifically the Development Directorate of the Trikala Regional Unit, while the company was subject to a notification regime and ex-post controls.
