Direct Democracy Representative: Trying to Study the Cyprus Issue (VIDEO)

The representative of Direct Democracy, Dimitris Baros, was hosted on the SIGMA's "Protoseleido" show, where he discussed the start of the candidate selection process through the party's digital platform and its main political priorities. The start of the process was postponed due to the crisis in the Middle East, as the movement believed it would not be appropriate to ask citizens to vote during a period of international concern. Mr. Baros emphasized that combating corruption is a key goal, characterizing it as "the root of evil" and referring to actions that do not benefit citizens but serve private or party interests. Direct Democracy differs from other parties by emphasizing transparency and the continuous participation of citizens in decision-making. The vote will be held through the Agora application, where citizens can register and select candidates from their province. The process is simple and the number of votes someone can cast is determined by the province. The movement seeks to inspire young people to get involved in politics, considering it an important part of life. Regarding the Cyprus issue, Mr. Baros stated that it is a complex issue and that the party's basic philosophy is to make decisions in cooperation with citizens. He considered that a different approach may be needed after decades of deadlock and left open the possibility of greater involvement of the European Union.
