Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has requested a two-month ceasefire in order to hold elections in Ukraine. During his speech at the Munich Security Conference, he expressed hope for substantive peace talks mediated by the United States, but emphasized his concern over continued demands for concessions only from the Ukrainian side. He also described Russian President Vladimir Putin as a “slave of war” and expressed regret over the slow pace of political decisions related to countering the Russian attack. Zelenskyy reiterated Ukraine's desire for peace, but on fair and reciprocal terms.
