Tornaritis Proposes Fund Expansion to President Christodoulides

Christoforos Tornaritis, through a post on X, proposed to the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, to expand the role of the Fund created in 2013 to support financially disadvantaged students. The proposal includes strengthening its social action to cover other vulnerable population groups, such as single-parent families, people with disabilities, victims of domestic violence, and others. Furthermore, Mr. Tornaritis suggests the creation of an Independent Transparency and Social Control Committee, which he pledges to establish by leveraging his experience from his social work. The committee will consist of presidents of recognized charitable organizations and individuals with proven social contribution, and will be required to submit an annual public report and manage resources with full transparency. In his post, Mr. Tornaritis calls on President Christodoulides to collaborate on the creation of a “Fund of Love and Compassion,” free from partisan interventions and favors. He expresses the readiness of “SIKOU PANO” to contribute institutionally to the implementation of the proposal. Mr. Tornaritis emphasizes that society does not want conflicts, but solutions, and states that his door is open for dialogue and cooperation with the President of the Republic, with the aim of creating a Fund that meets the real needs of society and enhances citizens' trust.
