Irene Charalambidou Steps Down as Head of Human Rights Committee

Irene Charalambidou, a Member of Parliament for Nicosia and former President of the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights, has handed over the presidency to Giorgos Koukoumas, Deputy President of the Committee and a member of AKEL. Ms. Charalambidou expressed her satisfaction with the cooperation with the committee members, emphasizing the unity and commitment to defending human rights. She will continue to participate in the Committee, as well as other committees of which she is a member. She did not make immediate announcements about her future steps in politics.
